Scientist and inventor Saul Griffith has found a way to tap into the green power of wind energy using kite technology.  Watch his lecture (right).

A direct way to harness wind power using kite technology was explored by Alexander Graham Bell in Nova Scotia.   He used the strength of tetrahedral cells to create kites capable of carrying humans. One of his more unusual tetrahedral based kites can be seen in this photograph of a flight near Baddeck, NS (right).

OREC students were given the brief of recreating this technology to produce a kite capable of aerial photography.
